Postpartum Support in Stockholm

Get emotional support, nourishment, and relief during the first few weeks after giving birth.

Support in the home during the fourth trimester

The early days with a newborn can often feel overwhelming. For most people, it’s a life-changing and intense time when it can be a great relief to have company, a helping hand, and support.

A postpartum doula provides support at home through empathetic conversations, guidance, and help with all the practical details to make the transition to parenthood safer and smoother.

The starting point for our visit is empathetic support tailored to your specific needs on that particular day, including emotional, physical, and practical assistance, as well as help with the baby, older children, cooking, or household chores.

Here's how it works

We begin each visit with a conversation about how you and your baby are doing and what your needs are today.

We’ll use today’s needs and the conversations we had during your pregnancy as a starting point to plan together how to spend your time.

Examples of what the support can consist of:

  • Support in finding a routine and feeling comfortable in your new life
  • Support in interpreting and understanding your baby’s cues and needs
  • Guidance on how to build your self-confidence as new parents, at your own pace
  • Support for physical and emotional recovery after childbirth
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Practical assistance (e.g., helping you find comfortable positions, cooking, laundry, cleaning, or helping with older children)
  • Extra help with caring for the baby
  • Massage (using oils from Braido Organics) and connective tissue massage
  • Support in finding rest, well-being, and relaxation
  • Companionship and someone to talk to and share experiences with

Frequently asked questions

Can I book postpartum support while I'm pregnant?

Yes, we highly recommend booking postpartum support with us while you’re still pregnant. This gives us a better opportunity to get to know each other and plan together at our own pace.

Booking well in advance also increases the likelihood that we’ll be able to support you and that you’ll secure a spot.

Can I book postpartum support after the baby has already been born?

Yes, that’s possible if we have space available. We recommend booking as early as possible during your pregnancy, if possible.

If your baby has already been born, you’re more than welcome to reach out to see if we can support you.

We’d love to hear from you!

Do you offer breastfeeding support?

Yes, breastfeeding support is included as part of our postpartum care. We do not offer separate breastfeeding support, and if you have more complex breastfeeding issues or concerns about your baby’s health or weight, we recommend that you contact a breastfeeding clinic.

Do you offer overnight care?

We know that overnight support is often requested, especially if a woman has previously experienced a challenging or difficult postpartum period.

However, we find that overnight support is usually not needed if the mother receives help establishing successful breastfeeding or feeding, support for her own well-being, guidance on sleep, and support in creating a safe sleeping environment.
